“I just managed to convince my grandmother that it was worth while, that was something to do, you know, and when I did finally get the guitar, it didn’t seem that difficult to me, to be able to make a good noise out of it.”
- Eric Clapton
Want to learn guitar? A new group class is starting iat MAP that will introduce students of all ages to the guitar.
This new class includes learning about the guitar, its' sounds in a group context (orchestra or band etc.) parts of the instrument, how to hold and make sounds on them, and lots of hands-on time with it. In addition, students will learn an overview of beginner music, strumming patterns and strengthening exercises, and how to hold a note to get a clear tone. Students will play tunes which are familar to them and create their own music as a group. The class meets Wednesdays at 6:00pm. This is a great class for families and friends to try, as well. Afterall it is great to have someone to learn with and practice at home, too. A few in class guitars are available for students, although we encourage students to bring their own instrument if they have one available.
BEGINNER GROUP GUITAR meets Wednesdays at 6:00pm with Frank Shelton.
Private Guitar is also available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, call 317-437-0102 to reserve a lesson.
