It is a partnership of teachers, families and community members with a goal to nourish the arts, creativity and community through education, performance and exhibition. The MAP offers year-round classes and workshops for children, teens and adults, taught by trained artists and professional educators, in a positive environment. Classes encourage creative thinking and individual expression while teaching skills, ideas, and techniques. Small class sizes allow for individual attention while encouraging students to work on different ability and developmental levels. I'm a grad student at Indiana, finishing up my doctorate in Religous Studies. I also have a lifelong passion for theatre, music, and the visual arts (I'd love to dance, but my rhythm is pretty atrocious--in high school I got kicked out of a doo-wop group because I couldn't sing, sway, and snap all at the same time!). About Me
Recently found the free time to do something I have wanted to do most of my life: learn to paint. I have always had a creative bone and need a way to express it. I look forward to taking painting lessons soon. I would like to be able to paint some of the places I have visited in recent years like Israel, the rainforests of Costa Rica, the mangroves of Cartagena, Colombia and the coral reefs of the Caribbean Sea. Inspiration also comes from the farm and living in the country. I want to be able to paint bees, flowers, wild turkeys, coyote, deer and hawks that reside around me. I'm also interested in meeting new friends. |
